Lemmon Valley Water System Improvements
Heppner Waterline Extensions Phase 7

In June, 2010 A&K Earth Movers, Inc. was awarded the Heppner Waterline Extension Project, the waterline is being implemented by Washoe County in anticipation of failing private wells that the residents are currently using.

A&K Earth Movers began work on the project June 14th, 2010 and was under the gun with a very aggressive schedule that was required in order to win the bid. The work on the project consists of installing 9,178 lineal feet of 6”C-900 PVC, 5,969 lineal feet of 8”C-900 PVC, 20 fire hydrants and 95 domestic water services.

Some of the challenges associated with this project are tight working areas, and as always, working in residential neighborhoods keeping access for residents and maintaining safe operations is key.

The job was estimated to install 850 lineal feet of pipe a day, and at current the A&K crews have managed to average 1000 feet per day, the project is on schedule and is tentatively on the calendar to begin paving operations July 19th.
