Objective and Responsibilities:

Works with Equipment Manager to provide accounting and administration support in order to achieve the company goals of reliable and cost effective fleet management and shop performance.

 

Duties, Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  1. Setup and utilize company software system for shopwork orders to provide accurate repair cost, shop cost per hour, and track shop performance.
  2. Setup and utilize company software system for preventative equipment maintenance to ensure timely equipment maintenance and reduce major repair costs.
  3. Assist in shop policy development and implementation. Set up and utilize software system to track mechanic performance and training goals.
  4. Setup and utilize company software system to provide accurate cost accounting for equipment fleet including a profit and loss statement for company owned equipment. Develop and utilize software to provide true operational costs and equipment rates.
  5. Setup and utilize daily and month end procedures to properly track all invoices and purchase orders to ensure accurate and compliant financial information as related to shop and equipment department.
  6. Ensure purchasing system is being used correctly with authorized completed- purchase orders and signed packing slips. Work with vendors and employees to make sure they understand correct procedure.
  7. Work with Equipment Manager to setup and follow yearly budget. Develop and follow procedures to stay within budget.
  8. Maintain equipment files and provide component costing.
  9. Setup and maintain equipment utilization information per company software system.
  10. Work with Equipment Manager to develop dispatch procedure, equipment repair sheets, and other daily and task oriented procedures to streamline maintenance department and provide timely and accurate paperwork.
  11. Develop a written "desk manual" for position which provides work flows and position instructions.
  12. Perform other duties as needed and work as a team with other employees.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years in construction equipment accounting
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment and random Drug and Alcohol Tests
