Lube Tech

Position Summary:

The Lube Technician/Fuel Truck Operator is responsible for providing preventative maintenance support to company equipment, trucks, and vehicles through daily fueling, lubrication, inspections, and basic maintenance activities. This position plays a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring safe operations, and maintaining accurate maintenance and fuel records. The employee works under general supervision and follows verbal and written instructions while adhering to all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and OSHA regulations.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Fuel and lubricate equipment operating on active job sites daily.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and service activities on construction equipment, trucks, and vehicles.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete inspection reports accurately and on time.
  • Perform after-hours job site inspections and equipment walk-arounds as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked lube/fuel truck.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Follow Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS) requirements for the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Complete fuel sheets, maintenance records, timecards, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and assist with investigating inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work safely in all weather conditions and on active construction sites.
  • Assist with additional maintenance and support tasks assigned by management.

 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and varying job site environments.
  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • May be required to work after normal business hours to perform inspections or support project needs.
  • Exposure to fuels, lubricants, and other maintenance-related materials while following required safety procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six (6) months of basic maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and equipment servicing procedures.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements, including proper lifting techniques and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and trade-related equipment.
  • Must provide and maintain personal hand tools required for the position.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Must be have or be able to obtain Hazmat endorsement
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and coworkers.
  • Subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing per DOT regulations
